Turn Away from Evil and Do Good - 4
833. Turn Away from Evil and Do Good – 4
Man has two concepts: 1) When he sees that he is in a state of lowliness, and to worry and regret being in lowliness, or be worried over why he is not in a state of ascent.
Although they are seemingly the same thing, they are two things, according to the rule of Baal HaSulam, “Where one thinks, there he is.” When one thinks that he is in lowliness, he is attached to lowliness. But when he thinks about how to ascend, he is attached to the discernment of ascension. This is called “do good.” But from the bad, “turn away,” since when one is attached to the bad, the bad controls the person. Therefore, “Do good.”
