Pleasure Cancels the Mind
778. Pleasure Cancels the Mind
Pleasure cancels the mind and does not let it think about life’s purpose, whether he derives pleasure from spirituality or from corporeality. For this reason, when one wants to see if he is walking on the path of truth, he should not think about the pleasure he is in now.
Likewise, suffering causes him to lose his intellect, so his only concern is to get rid of the suffering he is in now.
Only dissatisfaction from the state he is in brings him to think about his life’s purpose, and the mind begins to contemplate why he is living in this world and what he should achieve.
