Action and Thought
722. Action and Thought
There is a difference between action and thought. A person does not control the thought, meaning he cannot chase away a thought if the thought is in his mind. But with an action, he can do or not do the action, since on action, there is the matter of coercion, that he can overcome the act.
Hence, when one does a good deed, the Creator gives him a good intention and thought to be on the act, if he wants it. This means that he yearns for a good thought but cannot overcome the thought and the intention.
This is the meaning of “I will bless you in everything you do,” when the Creator sends a blessing on the act, for blessing pertains to a place where one’s hand does not reach. There, a blessing is pertinent, and this was said about the intention.
