663. If He Is Rewarded, His Work Is Done by Others
“If he is rewarded, his work is done by others.” But if he is not rewarded, his work is done by himself.
We should understand the importance of being rewarded, that his work comes through others. If so, then this is regarded as the bread of shame, so what is the benefit?
We should interpret that “others” means Achoraim [posterior]. There are Kelim de Panim [anterior vessels], which are called “vessels of bestowal,” and Kelim de Achoraim [posterior vessels], called “vessels of reception.” For this reason, before one becomes complete, while he has not achieved the degree of “rewarded,” his work, the holy work, is done by the Kelim de Panim, which are vessels of bestowal, and he can work with them in the holy work.
But once he is rewarded, his work, the holy work, is done by others, meaning that he can also use the Kelim de Achoraim, which are vessels of reception, for the sake of the Creator.
