559. One Hundred Blessings

“And he sowed in that land and found on that year one hundred gates.” Through the 355 days in each year, meaning that there are many follies and nonsense, and he saw that he was in a state of “What?” unlike Abraham, who was nonetheless “dust and ashes,” but truly a state of “What?” where by wanting to raise all the follies to Kedusha [holiness] he came to a state of “What.” (Also, perhaps he is in the state of “The wicked will fail and the righteous will walk in it.”) When he was in “One hundred gates” in the quality of “doing,” he was then rewarded with a blessing, which is “hearing,” which is that the MA [what] becomes Me’ah [one hundred], meaning that he extends the quality of the “Champion of the World” into the MA and it becomes Me’ah [one hundred] blessings.

Also, we need to understand the meaning of the Written Torah and the Oral Torah. In the Torah, the Written Torah is called Yod-Hey-Vav, as was said, “And we are what,” where first we must be ones who believe in the words of our sages, and then we are rewarded with Me’ah, meaning the bottom Hey, so when the bottom Hey shines, as well, meaning when we extend the Yod-Hey-Vav into the bottom Hey, there is wholeness and it is called “One hundred blessings.”

This is the meaning of “light,” “water,” “firmament,” which are one hundred blessings that a person should do each day. This is the meaning of “You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you.”

“Light” means that first there was the discernment of light, and then it was restricted and the light became “water.” Afterward, it was decreed that a “firmament” would be made between the upper and lower waters, where a person feels that he is under the firmament, that he has become separated, and then he cries. This is the meaning of “Lower water cries.”

At that time, he corrects himself and achieves his wholeness. This is the meaning of “It will be established for you,” when the word of the Creator comes true. That is, the Creator is felt in all of Creation, and this is the meaning of “one hundred blessings.” This is the meaning of “And Isaac dwelled by Be’er-lechai-roi.” In other words, he returned all the follies and sorted them out for lechai-roi (which is LeChai [the One] who Lives Forever).

This is the meaning of the three wells, meaning three scrutinies:

1) Oshek [robbing] means that he saw that the Klipa [shell/peel] was robbing the Kedusha [holiness] by depicting depictions about the Creator, that He is not “The One whom my soul loves,” and saying that she is a depiction of the Creator, as was said about Sarah, “I was despised in her eyes,” for she makes depictions and says that she is the form of the Shechina [Divinity]. It follows that she robs the real form.

This is the meaning of “This year, slaves.” According to the form that the handmaid gives to Dvekut [adhesion] with the Creator, “Next year, free,” meaning that from this day forth, we are accepting the real form, like sons and not like slaves, who gives the form of free, who becomes liberated from this form.

Afterward, in the second scrutiny, “hatred,” as in “You who love the Lord, hate evil.”

Precisely through the bad we are rewarded with being beloved friends, where he says that it is not as the form that the Sitra Achra [other side] makes in the manner of robbery, but that the real form is in the manner of “beloved friends,” as it is written, “Have you seen he who my soul loves? I have sought he who my soul loves; I almost left them until I found he who my soul loves. I held him and I will not let go of him.”

3) Then he comes to a well, meaning to a scrutiny called Rehovot because now “The Lord has made room for us, and we will be fruitful in the land.” This is the meaning of “Isaac dwelled in Gerar,” meaning he was Nigrar [following/pulled after] the Creator like a shadow follows a person, as he was rewarded with private Providence.

This is the meaning of “Who is it who rises from the desert like plumes of smoke?” First, it was made out of the frog through the beatings. When he wanted to submit, they proliferated. Finally, he saw a capitol lit up, which are only doubts about the Creator.

“Rising from the desert” means that while a person is still in the desert, meaning among the Klipot [shells/peels], “as plumes of smoke,” meaning that the “World, Year, Soul” in him are all as plumes of smoke and he cannot stand them and he runs from them, which is the meaning of Harei Battar [Mountains of Battar], where Harei are bad Hirhurim [thoughts], and Battar means carcasses, that from this, one becomes dead, separated from the Life of Lives.

This means that the Shechina [Divinity] says, “Run my beloved on the mountains of perfumes,” where through the Het [Hebrew letter], meaning of inferior degree, when he receives everything in the form of doing, he is later rewarded with these mountains becoming perfumes, namely that he raises everything to Kedusha [holiness].

This is the meaning of myrrh, where before he felt Merirut [bitterness] in all the “world, year, soul,” and he is rewarded with Levona [incense], the upper Loven [whiteness], which is the one hundred blessings, meaning that the [letter] Het becomes a Kof, meaning blessings.

This is the meaning of the minister of forgetfulness being called “Bad-Mouth,” meaning that by gossiping and slandering the Creator, the Creator makes those who mention forget, for it is a great flaw called “robbery,” for this form is not real. Rather, He is good and does good, and this is called “My soul’s Beloved,” and then we can find Him.

Conversely, we cannot find the form of the Sitra Achra [other side] because it does not exist in reality.

This is the meaning of “powders of the merchant,” where if even the dust of slander stays in the body after slandering, it is still harmful. However, when one takes everything as doing above reason, he is rewarded with great lights, called “scent,” which is “and he smelled it in the fear of the Lord,” said about the Messiah, that we cannot receive lights unless as a scent that rises from below upward.

This is why as there are entertainments in MAN, so there are entertainments in MAD. In other words, according to the joy one has during the action, so he has joy in MAD, meaning in hearing. The most important is the preparation of the Kelim, which is the meaning of the inversion into vessels of bestowal.
