Rabash / A Broken Heart – 2

800. A Broken Heart – 2

“A broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.”

When the work is built on the basis of above reason, one always needs the mercy of the Creator, to hold him, since he has nothing else. This is precisely so when the heart, which is the will to receive, called “body,” is broken and contrite, and cannot receive any support from the body, as in “One who loves the Creator, his body is broken so the soul will reign.”

But when the heart, too, understands what he is doing, he no longer needs the mercy of the Creator and can already say, “My power and the might of my hand,” meaning that his own wisdom helped him and he no longer needs His help. At that time, it can be said that he despises His help.
