725. Man’s Soul Will Teach Him
August 24, 1947
“Man’s soul will teach him.” The whole Torah is learned primarily for the purpose of the soul, meaning for those who have been rewarded with a soul. And yet, they must yearn and search words of Torah or other sages in order to learn from them new things that the predecessors invented in their innovations in their teachings.
This will make it easy for them to climb up the rungs because they will be carried by them.
However, there is a discernment in the Torah that must not be revealed, since each soul must make its own scrutiny and not that another will scrutinize the degree. Hence, before they make the scrutiny themselves, they must not reveal the words of Torah. For this reason, the sages tend to hide many things.
Besides, there is great benefit to the souls when they can receive from the innovations in the Torah of predecessors. This is why it is written, “Man’s soul will teach him” how and what to receive and be assisted by innovations in the Torah.
