653. Concerning Threshing

May

“Indeed, your threshing will last for you until grape gathering, and grape gathering will last until sowing time.”

The matter of “threshing” means things that a person tramples with his feet, meaning he extracts the abundance from under his feet. By this he comes to a state of narrow. Since it becomes narrow to him, he feels that this is bad. Then, once he has obtained these discernments, he is guaranteed to walk on the good path. But before one attains this, he walks in circles (“if there is no reason that distinguishes where from,” but when he obtains these discernments in his mind, he can then distinguish).
