Rabash / To Do Them Today

565. To Do Them Today

“To do them today and to receive the reward for them tomorrow,” meaning we have to work Lishma [for Her sake]. Thus, why should he remember “and to receive the reward for them tomorrow”?

There are two matters here:

1) We should believe that there are endless pleasures in Torah and Mitzvot [commandments], that all the pleasures of this world are but a tiny light compared to what is found in a tiny degree in Kedusha [holiness], as it is written in The Zohar and in the writings of the ARI. Otherwise, he has no respect for Torah and Mitzvot. In order for one’s intention to be in order to bestow, he must say “and to receive the reward for them tomorrow,” meaning he says, “Now I want to make a choice and take upon myself the burden of Torah and Mitzvot only for the sake of the Creator.”
