519. Concerning the Tzimtzum [restriction]
Since Malchut received all the light that the Emanator wanted to give, which is called “filling all of reality,” and wanted to receive more pleasure, and since, with respect to the reception of the light there is nothing to add, she awoke to receive pleasure by being a giver.
As the Creator is the source of the pleasures and has joy from bestowing upon the worlds, as it is written, “There has never been joy before Him as on the day when Heaven and Earth were created,” for this reason, once Malchut received everything in the manner of filling all of reality, a thought came before Him that she would receive pleasure from giving to the Creator. Hence, she said, “I do not want in order to receive, but I will receive only in order to bestow.”
