486. The Beginning of Speech Is from Ein Sof
According to the rule, we begin to speak only from the place of the connection between the Creator and the created beings, called Ein Sof [infinity/no end], which is the desire to do good to His creations, and not before. It therefore follows that we should not ask why the Creator wants to do good, meaning about the reason that caused it, since we begin from the desire to do good and downward, and not from before the desire.
If you ask about the point, namely the reason that the quality of bestowal emerged from Him, then we are asking about prior to the connection, and here we do not attain. Even the quality of doing good that we attain is in the manner of “By Your actions we know You,” meaning that by receiving the benefit, we understand that there is a desire to do good.
