Rabash / The Counsel of the Lord Ever Stands

457. The Counsel of the Lord Ever Stands

In the verse “The counsel of the Lord, ever stands,” we should understand that it is a rule that a person uses a counsel in order to obtain something. However, once he has obtained the matter, he no longer uses the counsel. Thus, what does “ever stands” mean?

We should ask, for because man was created after the Tzimtzum [restriction], there is concealment on him. Thus, how can he achieve the goal called “to do good to His creations”? For this reason, the Creator gave an advice—to aim to bestow. This advice stands forever, for it is impossible to receive any abundance if one does not use the counsel of “in order to bestow.” When one cannot work with this intention, he loses what he has obtained.

“Delight them with a complete structure.” What is completeness? It is when he has two things in his hand: 1) abundance, 2) reception of the abundance. If he cannot give the aim to bestow then there is no completeness because the abundance departs from him.

Or we can interpret “complete structure” to mean Hochma and Hassadim, for only by those two will he be able to keep the abundance in his hand.
