411. All Who Are Violent, Prevail – 2
May-June 1979
The origin of the judgment extends from reality, since when the wicked comes and argues, “What is this work for you?” what do we tell him? “Blunt his teeth,” meaning that we haven’t the intellect to reply, but everything is above reason. This is regarded as “All who are violent, prevail,” at times the good inclination and at times the evil inclination. Since the intellect has no concept by which to sort the good from the bad, it is only by force.
This is why that judgment was given concerning that Ishmaelite, for the body in this world is like a ship at sea, and each one wants to control it and assume ownership over the body. This is the meaning of the saying, “All who are violent, prevail.”
