Commemorating Baal HaSulam

Yesterday on Yom Kippur, we commemorated the passing of Baal HaSulam, Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag - one of the most important Kabbalists of our time.

It is hard to appreciate how fortunate we are to be living in this generation.

Baal HaSulam devoted his life to making the wisdom of Kabbalah accessible to ordinary people. He wrote that he was happy to have been born in a generation when it was permitted to reveal this wisdom openly - something that had not been possible for generations before him.

And today, we have his writings, the writings of his son Rabash, the explanations and guidance Michael Laitman, and the ability to study, connect and practice with people all over the world.

As Rav explains, in our time, attainment depends especially on the group - the ten. We don't advance simply by attaching ourselves to a teacher. We advance through the connection between us.

What an extraordinary opportunity this gives us.

We have the method. We have the sources. We have the technology to connect across the world. And we have one another.

And you can see this connection in action right here in our studio. Friends from our global community who have joined the current internship cohort are working on disseminating the wisdom and learning together with us - friends from Eastern Europe, Turkey, Spain, Canada and many other places around the world.

This is the world Baal HaSulam was working toward: the wisdom becoming accessible beyond borders, and people discovering that our development depends on how we connect with one another.

What a privilege it is to be living in this time.
