Repentance Corrects the Intention, Not the Desire

The obligation of correction and repentance does not apply to the desire itself, but to the intention a person forms in relation to the Creator’s revelation. With restriction and a screen, he can demand the upper light not as pleasure but as the force of correction. The true created being is concerned not with escaping darkness, but with receiving the Creator’s revelation without losing independence.
