All Spiritual Exertion Begins in the Society

Before the study, the friends must awaken one another with the importance of spirituality, even using envy and pride. A person cannot exert directly toward the Creator; by lowering himself before a correct society and seeing the friends as greater, he receives from them the desire with which he can turn upward.
