Disseminating the Wisdom of Kabbalah

In this lesson, we will study the importance of disseminating the wisdom of Kabbalah and opening it to everyone.

We will begin by reading several sources from Baal HaSulam on this subject. He was certainly not the only Kabbalist who wrote about the importance of revealing and spreading the wisdom, but in his generation he played a central role in opening the wisdom of Kabbalah to the world. Therefore, we will begin with several of his writings.

Afterward, we will watch a short excerpt from a lesson by Rav Laitman about the greatness of Baal HaSulam and the significance of his work in opening the wisdom of Kabbalah.

From there, we will try to understand how we can follow in their footsteps at our own level. What does it mean for us today to open the wisdom of Kabbalah to others? What can we practically do? And what kind of exercises can help us learn how to take part in this work, if dissemination is such an important part of our spiritual development?

The revelation of the wisdom of the hidden to the world is a necessary and indispensable condition that must precede complete deliverance.

The dissemination of the wisdom throughout the world is called a "shofar." Just as the sound of the shofar travels a great distance, so the echo of the wisdom will spread throughout the entire world.

We first need a great dissemination of the wisdom of truth throughout the world, so that we may become worthy of receiving the benefit of our righteous Messiah. Therefore, the dissemination of the wisdom and the coming of our righteous Messiah are interdependent. Understand this well.

Since this is so, we are obligated to establish places of study and compose books in order to hasten the dissemination of the wisdom throughout the world.

And who more than I myself knows that I am entirely unworthy even to be merely a messenger and a scribe for the revelation of such secrets, let alone to understand them at their root? And why has the Creator done this to me?

It is only because the generation is worthy of it, for it is the last generation standing at the threshold of complete deliverance. Therefore, it is worthy of beginning to hear the sound of the Messiah's shofar, which is the revelation of the hidden wisdom, as explained.

Regarding these secrets, not only is there no prohibition against revealing them, but on the contrary, it is a great Mitzva to reveal them (Pesachim 119). And one who knows how to reveal them and does reveal them, his reward is very great.

Workshop 2: How Would I Explain Kabbalah?

Let us try a practical exercise.

Imagine that you meet someone who has never heard about the wisdom of Kabbalah and asks you:

"What is Kabbalah?"

How would you explain it simply and clearly?

You can try to express it in whatever form feels natural to you: a short written text, a short audio recording, or a short video.

We can begin by trying this together in the workshop. Then, during the coming week, everyone can prepare something small at home.

There is no need to publish it anywhere. This is first of all an internal exercise for us, so that we can learn how to speak about the wisdom in a simple, clear, and accessible way.

You can share what you prepare in our Telegram or WhatsApp group so that we can learn from one another, discuss the different approaches, and gradually develop our ability to explain the wisdom to someone encountering it for the first time.
