The Power of Intention: Preparing for the Convention

As we approach the upcoming convention, the inner preparation we do right now dictates everything. True preparation isn't about clearing our schedules or tying up loose ends—though that helps; it's about calibrating our hearts and minds for one specific purpose: connection.

As Michael Laitman teaches, when we have families, jobs, and daily responsibilities, the body demands what it needs, just like it does even in the middle of a convention. But inwardly, where we truly live, our focus must be locked onto the collective desire.

The Real Work: Fixing the Shattering

There is no correction other than fixing the shattering of the common soul. And fixing the shattering means connecting our different, often resistant desires together as “one man with one heart.”

  1. The gap between us—the differences, the friction, and the distance—is precisely where we build a shared, unified vessel.
  2. Out of that very contrast between darkness and light, between alienation and love, we reveal the higher connection. That is the entire work. We want to step onto that first floor of spiritual attainment together.

Shifting from "For Our Own Sake" to "For Bestowing"

In our study of Matan Torah (The Giving of the Torah), we are reminded that commandments and actions are given simply to refine human nature ("to purify creatures").

  1. Naturally, we are born into absolute self-love—operating entirely on our own axis, far from the root of bestowal.
  2. Through education, environment, and our collective effort, we begin within "lo lishma" (for our own benefit) because we cannot start any other way.
  3. But through the study and the effort of connection, we cross the threshold into lishma—doing everything purely to bring contentment to the Creator, to elevate our actions entirely into the mode of bestowal and love for others.

Practical Steps for the Days Leading Up to the Event

To make these coming days a true springboard into the convention, we need to set the right internal climate:

  1. Disconnect from the Noise: Leave behind unnecessary business, endless news, and digital distractions so your mind isn't fragmented.
  2. Zero Judgment, Total Inclusion: Enter with an open heart. Treat every participant as someone brought directly by the Creator. Make a firm personal commitment: “Not a half-word of criticism will leave my lips.”
  3. Melt into the Group: Like water finding its level, come ready to integrate. When we sing together, we don't sing to perform or to stand out; we sing to blend our voices and dissolve our individual egos into the collective heart.
  4. Be Like a Child: Come for connection, not for knowledge. Leave behind calculations, summaries, and tension, and hold tight to the simple joy of taking even one small, genuine step toward mutual love.

Let's charge the air around us with this intention right now. The atmosphere at the convention won't happen by itself - we are the ones who create that special vibe together.
