The Morning Lesson: Our Daily Source of Light

Today we're going to dedicate our lesson to a cornerstone of our path, as taught to us by our teacher Michael Laitman and all the Kabbalists before him. Every day we get our dose of light from the morning lesson and that's what we're going to talk about today.

"King David said, 'I will awaken the dawn,' and the sages taught, 'I awaken the dawn, and the dawn does not awaken me.'" (Rabash, Letter 7)

This means I don't wait for the dawn to come to me - but rather awaken it myself. By connecting with my ten and the group - to connect with the Creator. By comparing myself to these higher attributes I want to achieve. And dissemination of the method to others. Today we're going to focus on the first - our connection with the Creator.

The dawn is actually the darkest point and also symbolizes the sunrise. So instead of waiting to be in darkness and disconnected - we come and awaken the dawn - we take the material and raise it upwards. Of course it has nothing to do with the actual dawn - we can do this anytime during the day. But we get up to study before dawn for the morning lesson at 3am every day - there is a spiritual root for this.

"My spirit within me will burn. I will cling to you with great love at night. For man must rise every night, out of love for God, to engage in his work, until he awakens in the morning and pulls upon himself a thread of kindness. Blessed is the lot of man who loves God with this love. And these are the true righteous, who love God in this way, the world exists for them, and they control all difficult decrees above and below." (Zohar Le'am, Parashat "Achrei Mot", Section 217)

The morning lesson is the place for the inspiration of the upper light. When you come to the gas station, you receive a filling. This is a morning lesson. During the day, you need to gather all kinds of deficiencies for the light that returns to the good, for spiritual power, for the closeness of the Creator, for clarification and criticism, and shape the picture of the world and your attitude, and the world that acts on you. During the day, you need to see the form in which you move around, how much it is still not understood by you and how much it is still unclear and how broken it is.

And when you come to the morning lesson, this form should become clear, by the light that reforms, in emotions, in thoughts, in all respects. If you don't prepare for a morning lesson, the morning lesson becomes something formal, this is the Zohar, this is the T'AS, this is this and this is that. And that is a complete loss. If you don't come with the right deficiency, you also don't get the right fulfillment from the class. Then you get wisdom and not Torah. Torah is called the light that reforms. Whether you study Torah or study wisdom – you have to say that according to your intentions, according to the deficiency that you prepared for the lesson. Michael Laitman

While everyone is sleeping, the Kabbalists get up to meet the inspiration of the upper light. Rav says that we need to see the form we walk around with all day with all kinds of desires - what kind of form is this? He means internally. And when you come to the morning lesson - that needs to be clarified in your thoughts and feelings. So it's not that the morning lesson allows us to disconnect from life - it is life! If we don't absorb that light then we won't even see how we come to the lesson and leave the lesson. This is the place where we wash ourselves with purity - the place where we charge ourselves.

Our precious hours are these, from three to six in the morning, when we, according to our effort to connect, receive the light that reforms, that is the main thing. Therefore, the Kabbalists have determined this, both according to time and according to form, that this is the state closest to spirituality from which we want to receive the strength to ascend to it.

Therefore, every morning when a person is in the lesson, he needs to check to what extent he is more present in the material today than yesterday. To what extent today he agrees more, more attached to the author, to the Rav in this case or to the Baal HaSulam. What previously did not seem so obvious to him, he did not understand, did not feel, was not present in it, now he understands more, feels more. Even more than understanding and feeling, he discovers that it is already within him. That he hears words or reads them and he feels that the author is bringing the text out of the person himself, from within. That it does not come from outside, it comes from within. And so he must strive to discover every day more and more of the writing that is already within him, and then he will discover that the soul, he himself, is already within this system. And the Torah that he reads, it simply tells him, reveals to him the true situation where he is already. And so the concealment passes and more and more he discovers himself who is within the spiritual system, within one soul. That all this comes from within, he too is within and the text certainly comes to him from within, right from the depths of his will. And not from outside, who hears it with his ears, sees it with his eyes, no, but really from within. This is the right approach, the right revelation for reading the material.
