One Should Always Sell the Beams of His House

Last week we did a very special broadcast from Haifa. Before Covid we were used to being in our tens in regional groups. We had centers all over the country. Gradually we started having virtual tens that had no physical contact at all. So now we want to create some balance, where people can come together in person at these events. The first event that we did was last Wednesday - whoever took part and wants to share you're welcome.

Our friend Fabio said it was an incredible experience and he will come to any physical event anywhere in the country.

Another friend is very grateful to have met in person and discover that you're not alone in your area - there are plenty more people. It's good to know because it strengthens us. Every physical gathering strengthens us - especially for all of us that are virtual.

Moriah in Haifa - I'd like to add that I was at the event up North. I came from the center. It was such a warm meeting - the group up North invested so much. The view was spectacular. There was such an amazing vibe. Someone from up North made a gift for each participant. I'm planning on coming to the next one in Ashkelon - it's such a fantastic opportunity to connect our hearts. I think it's so important to get to these events.

The friends from Haifa are sharing how they got physically further apart from each other after being together physically on a daily basis. They really enjoyed meeting students from all over. And thanks to the management in Petach Tikvah that heard what we needed. You really helped us find our roots and strengthen them more and more. Thank you for listening and implementing the Torah of Baal HaSulam, Rabash & Rav.

Question: What is "selling the beams of one's house" in spirituality?

Rav: All the thoughts, all the desires, all the attitude one has in life, which he uses in his own private way, without the unification of his friends to build one character, one system, that needs to be sold. But that's not enough. He also needs "from his shoes to his feet," that is, he also needs a defensive force that will hold him inside.

It's not enough that I annul myself, my opinion, towards society, that's called the beams of one's house, but I also need to receive enough. Submission is not enough, but I also need to receive from society enough strength, so that in the face of all the thoughts that arise in me, I will always remain with them in devotion.

That is, I need first of all - it's not enough to annul myself, I also need to receive a force that binds you to the group. It's called a "covenant," "his shoes to his feet," "spies."

Question: How can a person get out of spying on his friends, what is the cure for this in a group?

Rav: It is impossible that it will not be, but the opposite, every time it will be more and more, as we learn from all kinds of writings of Kabbalists. This is on the one hand. On the other hand, we understand that every time, at every level, at every moment I have, that I am conscious, who am I? What am I? Towards whom? What? Where? And so on, this is called the knowledge of life, so I need to immediately stabilize my view of life, and first of all examine my attitude to society, because through the group I want to see all of reality.

If I want to stabilize my view of the world, of life, of myself, of the Creator, of everything, I first need to stabilize the group before me, in what system it should be, the corrected one? How do I relate to this system? Where am I included in it, am I absorbed in it? And from within it then see the whole world, all of life. And so I check, as much as possible, every moment. Until the light that reforms influences my efforts, and brings me to the correct constant view.

Let's let Rav take us further into this topic -

Clip: Everything is just forces

And if a person really tries with all his might to bring closer to himself the form of the next world, the upper world, the Creator, as the integral network of connections that is revealed between all these forms that he now sees in his world, it helps him first of all not to build a statue and a figure. Not to be vague and mystical. To be more realistic. And especially if the upper world is the network of bestowal that he discovers between all parts of reality and also another additional reality, which is forces. The additional reality is forces, there is nothing more. Everything is just force, the power of will, the power of intention, of thought. So when he describes reality to himself in this way, he begins to understand that means are before him to achieve that new additional reality. That the means are those people who carry those forces of bestowal who want to be in the force of bestowal, with the intention of bestowing. His friends, who are actually those forces with whom together he can now begin to build and discover this system.

If he describes this system more vividly and closely, then he approaches working in a group, approaches working in dissemination. He understands that everything is fulfilled here in his group, in his world, here and now he must make the corrections. Then it is easier for him to make a covenant with them, to keep this covenant and so on and so forth.

Everything depends on describing spirituality as correctly as possible, which is the revelation of the connection of bestowal between us, between all the inhabitants of the world. And this connection, this network of connections, is the reality of the upper worlds, a world without end, where we then discover forces, no matter how still, vegetative and living. They disappear like the first nine. They disappear like the three previous degrees and we are left with only the malchut, the forces that are in mutual connection, in mutual guarantee between them. And all in all this entire bestowal network is called "the Creator" and they reveal that "there is nothing else besides Him", that only this exists. And we are all included in this network. Included in Him. Michael Laitman

Spirituality is the revelation of the connection of bestowal between us. While reading the sources our hearts need to yearn for the light that will make those connections so we can reach the Creator who is all about love and bestowal.

Clip: Strengthening the Connection

The main thing is that every moment a person tries to remember to strengthen the connection, and to see that in this he is working together with the Creator. That the Creator stabilizes for him the picture of reality and feeling, and a relationship to all the details that he sees before him. That he sees himself as being in the hands of the Creator and thus relates to what is before him, which is all in order to correct him, how he relates to everything, first of all, that "there is no one else besides Him", that he is managed from above. Second of all, that all the cases that are now before him are to show him how much he is not in agreement with the Creator. If he is not in pure love, as the Creator is in relation to all created beings in good and beneficial, to the bad, to the good, in love, from his perfect attribute of bestowal. Then if a person sees that the Creator shows him that the world is here and there not good in all sorts of shades, then in this the Creator shows him those cases that a person needs to make an effort to correct.
