From 2016 to Today: Why Europe’s Crisis Is a Call for Global Unity

More than a decade ago, at the beginning of 2016, Michael Laitman published a sobering article on ynet detailing the deep demographic and cultural shifts unfolding across Europe. Looking at a continent struggling to maintain its core identity, he offered a perspective that was less about political critique and more about the underlying laws of human nature and connection.

A Look Back: The 2016 Warning

In a recent Facebook post Rav reflected on the situation at the time:

"Over a decade ago, at the start of 2016, I wrote that the millions of Muslim refugees arriving in the heart of Europe did not come to integrate into the continent, but rather to dominate it and spread Islam. What began as a cultural melting pot has turned into an uncontrollable growth."

He emphasized that the structural issues facing the European Union stemmed from a lack of internal cohesion beyond mere economic agreements:

"I warned then that Europe is aging, lacking ideology and devoid of a real will to fight for its identity, and that the European Union is nothing more than an egoistic alliance on an economic basis—not a genuine connection between nations."

Drawing from ancient sources that outlined long-term historical cycles, he cited the Book of Zohar:

"I quoted the Book of Zohar, which predicted this process nearly two thousand years ago: 'And the children of Ishmael are destined to arouse great wars in the world, and the children of Edom will gather against them.'"

He also pointed out how societal tension often redirects outward:

"I also wrote that the frustration from this situation would be directed by European nations toward us, through manifestations of antisemitism, out of an inner feeling that the key to solving the crisis lies in our hands."

The Deeper Purpose Behind the Crisis

Crucially, the commentary was not meant to leave us in despair, but to highlight the evolutionary pressure human society faces to transform:

"The immigrants were 'injected' into Europe to shake it up powerfully and force existential questions upon it—who are we, why are we living, and how can we truly unite? Because only genuine unity can save it." "The healing process of Europe depends on the success of the people of Israel to reach an internal connection among themselves. As long as there is no unity among us, the entire human body remains ill. Only the power of connection emanating from Israel, based on 'love your neighbor as yourself,' is capable of curbing the spread of extreme Islam, saving Europe, and sweetening its fate." From Diagnosis to Action: Regional Conventions Worldwide

Today, as we watch these dynamics unfold globally, the need for a practical, active solution has never been more urgent. The division we see on the streets of Europe is a mirror of the lack of connection in the human heart. Diagnosis alone is not enough - action is required.

To build that tangible power of connection, we are launching a series of regional conventions throughout Europe and across the globe.

These conventions are designed to be practical laboratories for human connection. In every region and city, we are gathering to build an infrastructure of mutual guarantee, open hearts, and unity above all differences. When we come together - whether in Europe, the Americas, or Israel - we generate the positive force of connection that balancing today's global division desperately requires.

Join us at our upcoming regional conventions and take an active part in shaping a unified future. See the Awakening From Below convention site.
