Connection vs. Separation: The Two Forces Shaping Our Time
You wake up in the morning more tired than you were when you went to bed.
Even though you didn't do anything special yesterday. Even though everything is "okay."
There's something that exhausts us without us understanding what it is - and I think I've discovered what it is.
We've never been more connected - the Internet, networks, global trade, supply chains that cross twenty countries before your coffee reaches you in the morning.
And yet - we've never felt more alone.
Take a moment to look at nature. An atom left alone - is the exception, not the rule.
The moment hydrogen meets oxygen, water is formed. Two separately toxic elements - sodium and chlorine - together form a salt that you can't live without.
Then came the next step.
Cells connected - and organisms appeared.
Organisms connected - and Homo sapiens defeated all other species.
Not by strength, but by the ability to collaborate.
The agricultural revolution, the cities, the Internet - all are waves of the same law: greater connection.
But here lies a paradox.
At all levels of nature, the ego acts only for survival. A cell does not take from its neighbor more than it needs. A wolf does not kill beyond hunger.
Only at the human level has the ego broken through the boundaries.
Only man wants more than he needs, at the expense of others, even when it harms himself.
Only man wants more than he needs, at the expense of others, even when it harms himself.
And this is not a malfunction. It is by design.
For the first time in history, we are facing two forces at the same time: the force of connection that pushes reality from the Big Bang to the present, and the force of separation that has grown in us until we are almost broken by it.
Loneliness, anxiety, wars - all are the voice of this contradiction.
Until now, nature has connected us by force.
From now on - it wants us to choose for ourselves.
So this fatigue? It is not because you did not sleep enough. It is because we live against the laws of nature.
What do we do? First we learn and then - we practice in a small group. There we see the power of separation versus the power of connection - and we choose.
The loneliness you feel is not a personal fault.
It is an invitation from nature.
