Summary of Lesson 12: A Lesson in Two Parts

1) From Shattering to Correction

In this part of the lesson, we explored the fundamental concept of spiritual correction in Kabbalah. We examined how the initial shattering of the vessels symbolizes the breaking of unity and how our task is to restore this unity by aligning our intentions with the Creator. The core of correction lies in overcoming separation—both from the Creator and from one another—by developing mutual bestowal and love. The lesson emphasized that true correction is not about fixing external problems but rather about transforming our inner perception and connection.

2) Preparation for the Upcoming Kabbalah Convention

As we approach the International Kabbalah Convention on February 20-21, we recognize that the key aspect of correction is mending the separation between people. This disconnection is a direct result of our egoistic nature, and our path to spiritual growth begins with unity. The lesson focused on practical steps toward unity, understanding that by uniting as one heart and one soul, we align ourselves with the Creator’s quality of bestowal. The convention will serve as a powerful environment to practice and strengthen this unity, making it a significant step in our collective correction process.

Through our learning and preparation, we aim to transition from intellectual understanding to actual inner change, fulfilling the purpose of Kabbalah: to correct the separation and restore the original unity between us and the Creator.

Lesson 12

PART 1: FROM SHATTERING TO CORRECTION

PART 2: KABBALAH CONVENTION

THE THREE AXIS MODEL

“We have to know that all of the souls are extended from the soul of Adam HaRishon, for after he sinned in the sin of the Tree of Knowledge, his soul was divided into 600,000 souls. This means that the one light that Adam HaRishon had, which The Zohar called Zihara Ila’a [upper brightness], which he had in the Garden of Eden at once, spreads into numerous pieces.”

– RABASH, article 10, 1984 “What Is the Degree One Should Achieve in Order Not to Have to Reincarnate?”

“…We understand that the eternal soul of life that the Creator had blown into his nostrils, only for the needs of Adam HaRishon, has departed because of the sin of the Tree of Knowledge. It acquired a new form, called “Sweat of Life,” meaning the general has been divided into myriad parts, tiny drops, divided between Adam HaRishon and all his progeny through the end of time.

It follows, that there are no changes whatsoever in the acts of the Creator, but there is rather an additional form here. This general light of life, which was packed in the nose of Adam HaRishon, has expanded into a long chain, revolving on the wheel of transformation of form in many bodies, body after body, until the necessary end of correction.”

– Baal HaSulam, Introduction to the Book “Panim Meirot u-Masbirot", p. 22

“…There is indeed only one soul in the world… That same soul exists complete in each and every one, as in Adam HaRishon, since the spiritual is indivisible and cannot be cut—which is rather a trait of corporeal things. Rather, saying that there are 600,000 souls and sparks of souls appears as though it is divided by the force of the body of each person.”

– Baal HaSulam, ”600,000 Souls”

“…the whole is found within each element, since in the end, all the souls will unite into one discernment, returning to their spiritual root.” – Baal HaSulam, ”600,000 Souls”

“Many actions emerge from each created being, and in the end they will unite in one another until they literally become one action. This unification comes in every creature and its actions. …Hence, after all the actions of the creatures unite into an act, […], afterward, all the souls in the world must unite and merge into one soul, truly one, which emerges out of all the souls and they truly become one, as in the beginning of creation, when only one man [Adam] was created.”

– Baal HaSulam, “Man’s Actions and Tactics”

“All the worlds, upper and lower and everything within them, were created only for man. […] In the beginning, they were restricted and hung down degree by degree and world after world, down to our material world, to bring the soul into a body of this world, which is entirely to receive and not to bestow,[…]. In that state, one is regarded as the complete opposite of Him, and there is no greater remoteness than this…

Afterward, through the soul that clothes within one, he engages in Torah and Mitzvot. Gradually and slowly, from below upward, he obtains the same form of bestowal as his Maker, through all those qualities that hung down from above downward, which are but degrees and measures in the form of the desire to bestow. […] In the end, one is awarded being entirely to bestow and not to receive anything for himself. At that time, one is completed with true Dvekut with Him, for man was created only for this.”

– Baal HaSulam. “Introduction to the Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah”, Item 9

“One who wants to taste a good taste in life should pay attention to his point in the heart. Every person has a point in the heart, except it does not shine. Rather, it is like a black dot. The point in the heart is a discernment of the Nefesh [soul] of Kedusha [holiness], whose nature is a vessel of bestowal. However, she is in a state of Shechina [Divinity] in the dust, meaning that a person regards her as nothing. Instead, to him she is as important as dust.”

– RABASH, Article No. 34, TANTA [Taamim, Nekudot, Tagin, Otiot]

PART 2: KABBALAH CONVENTION

“One who truly wants to serve the Creator must include himself with all creations, connect himself with all the souls, include himself with them, and they with him. That is, you should leave for yourself only what is needed for connecting the Shechina [Divinity]. This requires closeness and many people, for the more people serve the Creator, the more the light of the Shechina appears to them. For this reason, one must include himself with all the people and with all creations, and raise everything to their root, to the correction of the Shechina.”

– Degel Machaneh Ephraim, BeShalach

“The vitality is mainly through unity, by all the changes being included in the source of the unity. For this reason, “Love your friend as yourself” is the great rule of the Torah, to include in unity and peace. The vitality, sustenance, and correction of the whole of creation is mainly by people of differing views becoming included together in love, unity, and peace.”

– Likutey Halachot, “Blessings on Seeing and Personal Blessings,” No. 4

“When he comes into a group where everyone is thirsty for the power to bestow, everyone receives this strength from everyone else. This is considered receiving strength from the outside in addition to the small power that he has within him.” – RABASH. Article No. 13, 1985

״According to what is written, “In the multitude of people is the King’s glory,” it follows that the greater the number of the collective, the more effective is the power of the collective. In other words, they produce a stronger atmosphere of greatness and importance of the Creator. At that time, each person’s body feels that he regards anything that he wishes to do for holiness—meaning to bestow upon the Creator—as a great fortune, that he has been privileged with being among people who have been rewarded with serving the King.”

– RABASH, Article No. 17 (1986), “The Agenda of the Assembly – 2”
