Module “Caretaking” Lesson 6
Lesson content
Materials
Main goal for this is to act like their “mother”, help them, support them during week and between the lessons.
- Choose a communication channel for this work: whatsapp or facebook group.
- Set up easy “rules” for communication or behavior in the group and display them visibly on the website, so you can refer to it if necessary! (does and dont’s!)
- Each day (or at least on a regular base) post an excerpt from an article which is linked to their study.
- Try to create a good mood in the chat, send hearts and friendly messages, tell them good night, post “text before sleep” etc.
- Don't be intrusive: don’t coerce or push people to things they aren't ready for (not to many posts per day, don’t overflood them in information).
- Answer their personal questions - sometimes it is helpful to answer special questions in private messages.
- Answering questions: Don't answer immediately; think about the answer, don't start a dialog (like a chat). If you don't know the answer discuss it with teacher; don't be afraid to tell the new students, that some topics will be learned during the lessons at the right time.
- Be like a connector between student and instructor (note special questions or impressions to tell the teacher that he can relate on this in the next lesson, if necessary).
