Module “Caretaking” Lesson 6
Lesson content
Materials
Main goal for this is to act like their “mother”, help them, support them during week and between the lessons.
Choose a communication channel for this work: whatsapp or facebook group.
Set up easy “rules” for communication or behavior in the group and display them visibly on the website, so you can refer to it if necessary! (does and dont’s!)
Each day (or at least on a regular base) post an excerpt from an article which is linked to their study.
Try to create a good mood in the chat, send hearts and friendly messages, tell them good night, post “text before sleep” etc.
Don't be intrusive: don’t coerce or push people to things they aren't ready for (not to many posts per day, don’t overflood them in information).
Answer their personal questions - sometimes it is helpful to answer special questions in private messages.
Answering questions: Don't answer immediately; think about the answer, don't start a dialog (like a chat). If you don't know the answer discuss it with teacher; don't be afraid to tell the new students, that some topics will be learned during the lessons at the right time.
Be like a connector between student and instructor (note special questions or impressions to tell the teacher that he can relate on this in the next lesson, if necessary).
Previous Lesson:
Lesson Job description for Caretakers during Online Lesson (teaching).
Next Lesson:
Lesson Job description for Caretakers; supporting the preparation of the physical meeting - Introductory Lesson
